We are to boil down our initial studies into 3 distinct directions and develop exhibit titles and descriptions from there.
The following images influenced specific campaigns, specified below.
"Walk the Talk" - excess in the Amish culture
"Nonresistance" - Amish conflicts with the US government
"Bend the Tree Young" - the Amish tradition in the US
My first two concepts still aren't entirely there yet. My images are too detached from my message and bring with them far too many implications.
For next class, I'll start exploring aesthetic directions and write a more in depth exhibition description.

Good exhibits. And catchy titles.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I don't understand them. #1 and #2 both contradict themselves. They say one thing in the title and then proceed to counter that message with their sub-titles.
#3 bend the tree young is nice. And quite evocative of the idea of indoctrination/molding of children. Is this what your exhibit is about? Because the sub-title and visuals, as of now, are more passive.
