Quick Cipe

It's actually pronounced "Sip-ee", not "Sip", but I couldn't help the pun.

Cipe Pineles, 1908 - 1991, is best known as the first female art director to work with a major magazine (Glamour, Seventeen, and Charm).

Her cover work was straightforward and elegant.

But her spread work had a more playful quality.

I'm excited to dive in deeper and analyze her importance to the design community, both in historical and modern terms.
