find & share : narrative information

In my opinion, the most interesting part of the narrative is how the individual experiences and interprets said narrative. Information and/or plot can be laid out systematically, but it is ultimately up to the reader to discern importance and take away pieces of impressions.

Designers, Researchers, and Statisticians (and many more) all hold the keys to controlling how one experiences and digests information. The researcher finds facts and boils it down with broad analysis while the statistician manipulates the numbers in such a way to simulate significance or insignificance. The designer pulls from the researcher and the statistician and adds the last touch - visual interest.

In the above infographic, the viewer is presented with a slew of survey questions answered teachers. The layout is simple with a consistent color palette. The combination of information is easily digestible. What this graphic leaves open ended is the response. What do parents think a teacher should provide? Discussion is left open and debate sparks immediately. A good graphic provides clear information but leaves enough room for synthesis and analysis, much like the graphic above.
